How We're Growing Kiwi Businesses—Literally and Logistically

New Zealand businesses aren’t just thriving; they’re expanding, and we mean that in the most literal sense. Whether it's a booming retail operation needing more office space or a council pushing for zero waste, we’re helping Kiwi enterprises to scale up in smart, sustainable ways.

That’s because we understand that traditional construction isn’t always practical. It’s costly, time-consuming, and often impossible when you need flexibility. That’s why our portable buildings are designed to work for the businesses that drive this country forward—modular, efficient, and tailored to real-world needs.

Let’s take a look at how we’ve helped Kiwi businesses get the space they need—quickly, seamlessly, and without the usual construction headaches

Otaihanga’s Zero-Waste Hub

Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword—it’s a responsibility. When Kapiti Coast District Council set out to create their Otaihanga Zero Waste Hub, they needed a facility that aligned with their environment-first mission. A space built to support a circular economy couldn’t come from a wasteful, inefficient build.

That’s where we came in. Our relocatable, sustainably designed buildings were the perfect fit. Durable, functional, and designed with minimal environmental impact, the hub now serves as a centre for resource recovery and waste reduction, proving that smart infrastructure can be part of the solution.

Our portable buildings offer:

  • A 23m x 10m Truss and Stretch system designed for efficient recycling drop-off
  • Three 6m x 3m modular buildings for staff operations
  • HVAC units for a comfortable working environment year-round, regardless of weather conditions
  • Additional windows to maximise natural light and improve ventilation, reducing reliance on artificial lighting
  • Sliding glass doors for enhanced accessibility and openness, creating a functional and welcoming workspace

Whether it’s a zero-waste hub, a green office space, or an eco-friendly customer-facing site, we provide solutions that work with your values, not against them.

Expanding Retail with Cotton On

Growth is exciting, but when retail businesses outgrow their logistics and storage space, they need a solution that doesn’t disrupt operations or drain budgets. That was exactly the challenge facing Cotton On Group, whose warehouse team required additional office space—fast.

With a busy, high-paced warehouse environment, the company needed a functional, well-designed office that wouldn’t interfere with the day-to-day logistics of their supply chain. A traditional office extension? Too slow and expensive. A temporary, makeshift setup? Not an option for a leading national retailer.

What Made This Build Work?

We delivered three 6m x 3m black-frame portable buildings, creating a 54m² modular office space that met both functional and aesthetic needs. Designed to feel like a natural extension of their warehouse, this solution offered:

  • Euro-tilt windows – Providing ample natural light while improving airflow and insulation.
  • Accessibility ramp – Ensuring easy entry for all staff and visitors.
  • Standard swing and custom glass sliding doors – A combination that balanced practicality with a sleek, modern design.

Installed quickly with minimal disruption, this project perfectly demonstrated the versatility of modular construction. Cotton On Group now has a dedicated office space that supports their operations—without the headaches of a traditional build.

Eden Park’s Match Official’s Box

Sport is serious business in New Zealand, and Eden Park is at the heart of it. But while players and fans get world-class facilities, match officials often get left out in the cold—literally. That’s why, when Eden Park needed a dedicated space for referees, they turned to Pacific Portable Buildings.

Our custom-built, professional-grade portable unit gave match officials a proper space to prepare, review decisions, and escape the chaos of the stands. No more makeshift setups or cramped, awkward meeting spots—just a purpose-built environment designed for high-performance needs.

Here’s what set this build apart:

  • Full glass frontages on both levels – Providing match officials with a clear, unobstructed view of the field from every angle, ensuring they can monitor the game without distractions.
  • Integrated HVAC system – Keeping officials comfortable year-round, no matter the weather conditions. Whether it’s a summer Test match or a chilly rugby showdown, this space is climate-controlled for optimal focus.
  • External stairs for accessibility – Allowing easy movement between levels while keeping the space functional and well-structured.
  • Customised stadium-aligned painting – Ensuring the building blended seamlessly with Eden Park’s existing aesthetic and branding.

This project wasn’t just about creating a room with a view—it was about delivering a professional, well-equipped environment where match officials can review decisions, prepare before kick-off, and operate efficiently throughout the game.

Chevron’s Training Facility

Education moves quickly. Student numbers fluctuate, teaching methods evolve, and schools can’t afford to wait years for new buildings. When Chevron Traffic Management needed a dedicated training facility, they turned to us for a smart, efficient solution.

Traditional builds come with red tape, long delays, and a price tag that makes budgets weep. In contrast, our portable classrooms offer a quick, cost-effective way to create high-quality learning spaces—without the hassle.

Here’s what made this build unique:

  • Three 6m x 3m black-frame units (joined long-side) – Creating a spacious, modern training area designed for group learning and practical instruction.
  • Two 6m x 3m white-frame units (positioned opposite) – Providing additional space for breakout sessions or administrative offices, ensuring the facility could accommodate multiple functions at once.
  • Standard Euro-tilt windows – Allowing for natural light and ventilation, ensuring a bright and comfortable learning environment while keeping energy costs down.
  • Additional sliding doors – Improving accessibility and ease of movement, particularly useful for a busy training environment where teams need to move efficiently.

Savory’s New Construction Zone

Construction sites are all about logistics, efficiency, and keeping things moving. When Savory Construction needed a functional, high-quality site office for their AIA project in Auckland, we delivered a building that worked as hard as their crew.

A good site office isn’t just a place to have a cup of tea and argue about rugby scores—it’s the operational heart of a project. It’s where plans get finalised, problems get solved, and teams stay on track.

What made this build work?

  • Multiple office and staff facilities – The setup included a meeting room, staff rooms, a dedicated lunchroom, and a full toilet block, ensuring a comfortable, fully equipped environment for contractors and administrators alike.
  • A mix of larger and smaller buildings allowed for efficient space allocation, ensuring that every team had the facilities they needed.
  • A larger m modular space – Providing a central operations hub, giving managers a dedicated area for project planning and coordination.
  • Truss roof system with a covered courtyard – Not just an office—this site featured an additional weather-protected outdoor space, allowing staff to move between buildings comfortably while also creating a functional breakout area.
